Getting the most out of your candle…
The first time you light your candle allow the wax to melt fully across the top so that it reaches the edges of the jar and the whole surface is liquid. This can take 30 minutes – 2 hours. This stage is important, soy wax has a ‘memory’ so this ensures that the candle burns evenly and does not tunnel.
Wooden wick candles take longer to light than cotton wicks but it is worth the wait. Hold your match or lighter close to the wick for 20 seconds to ensure an even burn.
Each time you light your candle make sure to break off the black burnt part of the wooden wick. You can simply snap the wick off with your fingers if cool or use the back of a lighter. If you do not snap off the burnt wick the candle will not burn efficiently.
When your candle has finished burning it will leave roughly 1cm of wax at the bottom of the jar. Do not feel hard done by, you still get the same burn time. This is a safety feature to prevent the glass jar from cracking.
Never leave a candle burning continuously for more than 4 hours.
Most importantly – relax and enjoy!
